Day1
We
will pick you up in Hervey Bay from your accommodation and then
its time to head south to Rainbow Beach through the State Forest
where we pick up remaining tour guests. Then it’s on to World
heritage Fraser Island and your adventure really begins! With
it’s famous 4wd tracks and natural fresh water lakes it will be
the trip of a lifetime.
Your first stop will be central station with its magnificent
rain forests and the invisible creek where your guide will show
you ancient ferns and abundant bird life.
Lunch will be served at central station – though watch out for
the kookaburras, they can be very sneaky and will take your food
before you even realize it is missing.
After we finish lunch it’s onwards to Lake McKenzie which is
considered one of the most beautiful fresh water lakes on the
island. You can spend as much time or as little time as you
wish, there are no time limits to constrict you.
After Lake MacKenzie it’s back on the coach and on to your
accommodation.
A BBQ dinner of steaks, pork chops or fish fillets is served
with fresh salads. After dinner you have time to enjoy the
facilities. |
Day2
Start your day right with a healthy breakfast of toast, cereals,
fresh fruit and juice. For those you need a little stronger pick
me up there is tea and coffee available as well. Then we will
head off along the 70 mile white sandy beach to popular landmark
Indian Head.
Here at Indian Head you can climb to the top of the headland and
take in the breathtaking views of Fraser Island’s Eastern Beach
and sand dunes. This is a perfect place to spot sharks, rays and
dolphins in the waters below.
During the months of July to October you may be lucky enough to
spot the majestic humpback whales making their annual migration.
After all that exploring you can decide to grab an early lunch
before heading onwards to the next destination.
On the return journey down the beach there are stops at the
pinnacles, Maheno shipwreck, Eli creek and the red canyon. The
pinnacles are massive natural sand stone formations with layers
upon layers of different coloured sand.
The Maheno shipwreck is also a must see, though it is strictly
no entry.!
Last stop is at Eli creek with its white sandy banks and clear
fresh water, it is a great way to cool off and relax before
taking the return trip.
After an amazing 2 day experience its time to board the coach
and head towards the ferry for the short cruise back to the
mainland.
